To the autism community,
After many years of sharing resources, updates, and support regarding autism funding in British Columbia, it is time to close asdfunding.com.
There’s encouraging news on BC autism funding. New programs and changes are promising for many families, but my child has aged out of the system, and I no longer have the time or up‑to‑date connection to responsibly maintain this site. Because I can’t keep the information current or reliably guide families through new processes, it’s time to bring this project to an end.
When I started this blog 16 years ago, the information available to families was sparse. Since that time, the rise of social media and many excellent private Facebook groups made this website redundant.
I am grateful to the Autism Support Network of BC. For years they have provided unbiased, evidence-based advice for families. Too many organizations in B.C. are more concerned with spending a large budget or pandering to the vocal minority. If you trust anyone, please let it be the Autism Support Network.
If you’d like to save any specific content from this site, please do so now. I will be taking the site offline soon. After that point, the content will no longer be available.
I have a lump in my throat as I write this knowing that many families have used this resource over the years. Thank you to everyone who contributed, shared experiences, and supported one another here. I’m grateful this community existed and I wish you the best in your personal journey.
